Galway Cathedral, dedicated to Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and St Nicholas, stands as a stunning representation of mid-20th century ecclesiastical architecture. Completed in 1965, it is one of the last great stone cathedrals built in Europe. Notable for its impressive dome and beautiful stained-glass windows, the cathedral offers visitors a serene environment to admire its art and architecture, including a magnificent crucifix by Imogen Stuart.
